After receiving her law degree from The Ohio State University School of Law, Lisa was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Delaware County, Ohio, and served a clerkship in the Appellate Division before joining the Proskin Law Firm in 1995. Her ability to respond to her clients’ needs has led to success, not only in legal matters, but politically, when she was elected as the Village Justice of Menands, Albany County, a position she held until 2017. Lisa is a member of several local and state Bar Associations and, as a breast cancer survivor, served as the Vice President of To Life!, a Capital Region breast cancer education and support organization.  She currently serves as the Secretary of NYOH Foundation, an organization whose mission is to provide support to cancer patients.

Ms. Proskin provides a hands-on approach to the practice of law. Whether working on criminal matters, personal injury, real estate or contracts, she is likely to be meeting with clients and walking them through the process. She engages in the general practice of law, including, but not limited to, criminal matters, traffic law, personal injury, wills and estates, real estate and business law. Along with being the former Village Justice in Menands, Ms. Proskin previously served as a Court Evaluator and Court Appointed Attorney in Article 81 and Surrogate Court matters, all of which provide her with special insight to assist her clients.

Ms. Proskin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the Johns Hopkins University in 1989. She conducted interviews for the Admissions Department until the program ended in 2020 and remains a supporter of the University. Following graduation from Hopkins, Lisa attended The Ohio State University School of Law from where she received a Juris Doctor with Honors in 1992. She remains an avid Buckeyes fan.

Ms. Proskin is a member of many local and state Bar Associations and has held leadership roles in the Capital District Women’s Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York. She has served as Chairman of the Colonie Chamber of Commerce and remains active in school and community affairs. Lisa serves as a mediator for FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority ). When chosen, she sits on a panel of factfinders to determine outcomes of cases involving financial companies, finance professionals and consumers. In early 2024 Ms. Proskin was appointed an Assistant Town Prosecutor for the Town of Colonie, where she handles traffic cases.

In 2015 Lisa was inducted into the Shaker High School Hall of Fame and she is a founding member of the North Colonie Business Consortium. She has served as PTA President, a Girl Scout leader, and in various positions and committees within the school system. She currently serves as Appointed Counsel to the Colonie Chamber of Commerce and Secretary to Congregation Beth Emeth Sisterhood. She has also served as the President of the Greater Capital Region Business and Professional Women’s Association.

Lisa and her husband, Jonathan Pierce, reside in Menands. They have three children – Hannah, Daniel, and Rachel.
